After the release of its 28th collected volume in early August 2026, Sakamoto Days reached a new sales benchmark. The manga now has more than 18 million copies in circulation worldwide.
That total covers physical and digital editions distributed around the world. Circulation figures do not always reflect the exact number of copies purchased by readers, but they offer a useful measure of demand. In this case, the number shows just how quickly the action-comedy series has found an audience well beyond its original readership.
Yuto Suzuki created Sakamoto Days, which has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since November 2020. The manga mixes carefully staged action, unusual assassins, dry comedy, and a genuinely warm story about family life. It can move from a high-stakes battle to an ordinary problem at a neighborhood store without feeling forced, which has helped it stand apart from many other action manga.
TMS Entertainment is producing the anime adaptation. Its first season premiered in 2025 and was released in two parts, each consisting of 11 episodes. A second season is set to begin in January 2027, giving fans more of the story to look forward to while introducing the series to an even wider audience.
The series has made the jump to live action as well. A theatrical Sakamoto Days movie was released in 2026, showing that Suzuki's characters and story can work in more than one format. With the manga still running, another anime season on the way, and a film already in cinemas, the series has several opportunities to continue building its international audience.
