The popular manga series "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" (Sousou no Frieren) has once again updated its circulation count, surpassing a global total of 30 million copies. Coinciding with this news, it was announced that the manga will be resuming publication in a week. The next chapter of the series will appear in the 34th issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday, which will be released on July 23rd. This information was reported by the Oricon news portal.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" has been in publication since April 2020 and has so far been collected into 14 volumes. The creative minds behind the manga are writer Kanehito Yamada and illustrator Tsukasa Abe.
Besides the main storyline, five one-shot stories from different authors and light novels have been published. A special edition of the 14th volume of the manga included a short 24-page novel titled "Sora ni Hana wo Sakaseru Mahō".
Back in March, the first season of the anime adaptation by Madhouse studio concluded. Currently, the adaptation is the highest-rated series on the MyAnimeList website.
The premiere of the anime's second season is slated for January 2026. A teaser for the continuation has already been released.
The story of "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" begins at an end, 80 years after the Demon King fell at the hands of hero Himmels, priest Gaiters, dwarf Aizen, and elf mage Frieren. Elves live longer than other races, and the practically immortal Frieren watches as her old companions pass away one after another. In order to better understand those around her, Frieren decides to embark on a new journey with her new apprentice, Fern.
