The Competition Begins: Trailer for 'JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure – Steel Ball Run' Released

David Production is moving forward with another installment in the beloved manga adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, created by Hirohiko Araki. The studio has officially begun work on the anime version of the series' seventh part, titled JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run (STEEL BALL RUN JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken).

The new series will premiere globally on Netflix on March 19, 2026. Fans can look forward to an extended first episode, running 47 minutes. The project recently revealed its first trailer, offering a glimpse at the stylized visuals and dynamic racing sequences that define this arc.

Steel Ball Run originally ran in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump and later in Ultra Jump from 2004 to 2011, spanning 24 volumes. It marked a creative reboot for the JoJo saga, introducing a new timeline and reimagined characters while maintaining Araki’s signature flair for supernatural adventure. Set in the United States in 1890, the story follows Gyro Zeppeli and Johnny Joestar as they participate in a grueling cross-country horse race, chasing fortune, redemption, and mysterious powers hidden within the Steel Balls.

Beyond its thrilling plot, Steel Ball Run explores themes of perseverance, transformation, and destiny, offering a deeper and more mature take on the JoJo universe. With its stunning mix of Western imagery, surreal powers, and emotional storytelling, it’s considered one of the most acclaimed arcs of the entire franchise.

After completing Steel Ball Run, Hirohiko Araki continued the JoJo legacy in Ultra Jump, releasing the eighth part of the series in full and, since 2023, publishing the ninth arc of the long-running saga.

The previous anime installment, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, was also released on Netflix in three parts from 2021 to 2022, totaling 38 episodes. With the anticipation surrounding Steel Ball Run, fans expect another visually stunning and emotionally charged chapter in JoJo’s ever-evolving world. For collectors, complementing this release with a stylish JoJo-themed desk mat can bring a touch of the series' flair to any workspace.
