The summer anime lineup is looking lively as more series reveal their release dates. Among the most talked-about is the return of the fantasy hit Skeleton Knight in Another World (Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechū). According to the official website, the second season will debut on July 4.
The show is adapted from the well-known light novel of the same name. The new season brings together familiar staff members and a few newcomers behind the scenes. Director Katsumi Ono returns, this time with production handled by Aura Studio. The opening theme will be performed by PelleK, a singer recognized for his strong vocals and energetic anime cover songs.
The first season aired from April to June 2022 and featured 12 episodes produced by Studio Kai and Hornets. It earned a warm reception for its mix of adventure, humor, and detailed fantasy world-building, leaving viewers eager to see where the story would go next.
The story follows a gamer who dozes off during a late-night gaming session, only to wake up inside the world of his favorite game. To his shock, he has taken on the form of his in-game avatar—a powerful knight clad in full armor. The only downside is that his character’s appearance is that of a skeleton. Hoping to keep a low profile, he tries to live quietly, but his sense of justice keeps pushing him to act when he sees wrongdoing in this new world.
With its mix of action, humor, and heart, Skeleton Knight in Another World adds a fresh touch to the isekai genre. Fans can look forward to watching the loyal, kind-hearted knight continue his adventures when the new season kicks off this July.
