"Sakamoto Days" Manga, Featuring John Wick-esque Shopkeeper, Ups Reprint Ahead of Final Showdown

On August 4th, a new double issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will hit the shelves. This issue features the 224th chapter of the beloved manga "Sakamoto Days". This chapter marks the beginning of the "final battle" for the characters. But that's not all. On the same day, the 23rd volume of "Sakamoto Days" will also be released, pushing the total worldwide circulation of the manga past the impressive milestone of 15 million copies.

The manga, created by Yuto Suzuki, has been serialized since November 2020. The franchise also includes the spin-off manga Sakamoto Holidays, a light novel, and an anime adaptation.

The anime adaptation of this riveting story premiered in January of this year. The first 11-episode part of the show ran from January to March, while the airing of the second part commenced on July 14. The adaptation was handled by the renowned studio TMS Entertainment

The plot revolves around a dangerous killer who's retired from the business, reminiscent of the character John Wick.

Once, Tapo Sakamoto was the best hitman there was. Villains trembled at the mention of his name and his colleagues admired him. Then, one day... he fell in love. Retirement, marriage, fatherhood followed, and then... Sakamoto gained weight. The once legendary assassin is now the plump owner of a family store. Will he be able to protect his family from danger?

In other manga news, the publication of the manga "Frieren at the Funeral" has resumed, while the "World's End Harem" series has gone on a break.
