The upcoming anime adaptation of the manga Maid-san wa Taberu Dake (The Maid Who Just Loves to Eat) has finally received its release dates. According to the official website announcement, the series will premiere via streaming services on April 1, with its television broadcast following on April 5.
Suzume Tachibana, a maid who once worked in England, finds her life unexpectedly changing after the mansion she served in suffers severe damage. While she was visiting Japan at the time, her employer informs her that the house will take a full year to restore. With no reason to return immediately, Suzume decides to remain in Japan for a while. Living in a small apartment, she begins discovering the comfort and creativity of Japanese cuisine, turning mealtime into a source of peace and joy during her temporary stay.
The heartwarming culinary comedy manga has been serialized on Kodansha’s digital platform Comic Days since December 2019 and currently consists of five volumes. Created by Susumu Maeya, the series combines gentle humor, cozy daily-life storytelling, and mouthwatering food scenes that make it a perfect read for fans of slice-of-life and cooking-themed stories.
The anime adaptation is being produced by studios EMT Squared and Magic Bus. The lead role of Suzume Tachibana will be voiced by Kana Ichinose, known for her performances as Fern in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Tessia Eralith in The Beginning After The End. With its charming concept and a team of experienced creators, Maid-san wa Taberu Dake is shaping up to be a comforting, food-filled series for anyone who loves a mix of gentle storytelling and delicious dishes.
As the premiere approaches, fans can look forward to a cozy series that celebrates simple pleasures - good food, quiet evenings, and finding joy in everyday life.
