'Kaiju No. 8' Manga Hits New Print Milestone with Latest Volume

Kaiju No. 8

This summer marked the end of one of the most talked-about manga of recent years — Kaiju No. 8. While the final chapter has already been available for weeks, the last collected volume will only hit shelves at the start of fall. With its release, the series once again broke sales records, surpassing 19 million copies in circulation.

Created by Naoya Matsumoto, the manga was serialized on the Shonen Jump+ app and website beginning July 3, 2020. After nearly five years of weekly releases, it concluded on July 18 with its 129th chapter, which became the final installment included in volume 16 — the last collected edition of the series. The book is set for release on September 4.

Kaiju No. 8 expanded far beyond the pages of the manga. It has spawned anime adaptations, spin-off stories, light novels, and even additional manga side stories. At the end of August, fans will also get their hands on Kaiju No. 8: The Game, an upcoming video game adaptation inspired by the series. Many collectors also enjoy celebrating their favorite titles through themed merchandise like anime mouse pads featuring striking Kaiju artwork.
