VAP has opened the official website for the upcoming TV anime Kin to Tetsu. For now, there aren’t many details about the production, but fans are already excited to see how this dark, thought-provoking story will make the jump to the screen.
The story takes place in the totalitarian world of Amigasa, where people live under the control of a parasitic fungus that steals their free will, individuality, and even their bodies. In this bleak setting, a soldier named Dante—known as the Irregular—is the only person immune to the fungus. When he meets Aoi, a member of the underground resistance, their encounter triggers events that could upend their entire world. Refusing to live under a false sense of peace, Dante chooses to take on the oppressive system head-on.
The original manga, written and illustrated by Ayaka Katayama, has been running in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine since March 2021. Known for its detailed art and emotional depth, the series explores questions of identity, freedom, and what it means to remain human in the face of control. The ninth volume is set to be released on April 9.
As production on the anime continues, viewers can look forward to a mix of psychological tension and action. With its striking dystopian setting, Kin to Tetsu has the potential to stand out among the new season’s titles, especially for fans who enjoy stories about resisting authority and fighting to keep one’s sense of self in a controlled world.
