Fuse, the author of the popular series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, will complete his light novel saga this year as planned. The story will officially conclude with volume 23, scheduled for release in Japan on November 29. This was reported by Anime News Network, citing the publisher of the series.
The light novel first appeared online between 2013 and 2016 before moving into print in 2014. Since then, it has grown into a massive franchise, crossing over into manga, anime adaptations, video games, and merchandise. To date, the series has sold more than 56 million copies worldwide, making it one of the most successful isekai stories in the genre.
The anime adaptation, produced by Studio 8-Bit, continues to expand alongside the novels. The studio is working on a fourth season of the television series, as well as the second feature-length film in the franchise. While the premiere date for season four remains unannounced, the new movie is already scheduled to hit Japanese theaters on February 27.
