The studio MAPPA continues to work tirelessly on the anime adaptation of the light novel "Gourmet Adventure in Another World with Ridiculous Skills" (also known as Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hōrō Meshi). Yesterday, the studio released a special video featuring mouth-watering food preparation scenes from the anime, while reminding fans that the second season is just around the corner, set to debut in October.
"Gourmet Adventure in Another World with Ridiculous Skills" is possibly MAPPA's first venture into the popular Isekai genre. The series made its debut in 2023, with the first season consisting of 12 captivating episodes.
The story revolves around 27-year-old Tsuyoshi Mukoda, who was summoned to another world along with three other heroes to save a kingdom from a looming, mysterious threat. However, it soon becomes clear that Tsuyoshi's presence in the summoning ritual was nothing more than a fluke. His only "skill" turns out to be a "Network Supermarket," a unique ability that allows him to order food and groceries from modern-day Japanese supermarkets via a special interface.
In other news, the studio 8-Bit also recently announced the premiere date and released a teaser for another Isekai series, "About My Reincarnation in Slime: Tears of the Blue Sea." This highlights the growing popularity and demand for Isekai-themed shows in the anime world.
