'Black Clover' Bids Farewell: Yūki Tabata’s Fantasy Manga to End This Spring

The list of completed manga series is about to grow, as Black Clover prepares to conclude its long-running story. Three brand-new chapters were recently released in the winter issue of Jump GIGA, alongside an official announcement confirming that the series will end in the magazine’s spring issue. The exact release date has yet to be revealed, but fans are already buzzing about how the epic journey will wrap up.

Yūki Tabata launched Black Clover in 2015 within the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump, one of Japan’s most iconic manga magazines under the publisher Shueisha. In 2023, the series moved to the quarterly magazine Jump GIGA, where it has been steadily progressing toward its conclusion. Readers can also follow the latest chapters officially on the global manga platform MANGA Plus, available in several languages.

As of now, Black Clover spans 37 collected volumes, boasting a total circulation of over 24 million copies worldwide. This success has cemented its place among the most popular modern fantasy shonen series alongside giants like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen.

The Black Clover franchise extends far beyond the pages of the manga. Fans can enjoy an extensive anime adaptation, side stories, light novels, and even an original feature film. The first TV season premiered in October 2017 and ran until March 2021, with a total of 170 episodes produced by Studio Pierrot. The same studio, best known for its work on Naruto and Bleach, is also developing a new season set to debut this year.

In 2023, the film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King hit theaters and streaming platforms, delivering an original story that captivated fans with stunning animation and high-stakes action. The movie offered a deeper look into the lore of the Clover Kingdom and expanded on Tabata’s magical world.

Asta is an orphan boy with a dream: to become the greatest mage in his kingdom, the Wizard King. The only problem? He was born completely without magic in a world where magic defines everything. When fate grants him the mysterious Grimoire of the Five-Leaf Clover - a book that wields the forbidden power of anti-magic - his journey truly begins. Fueled by sheer determination and indomitable spirit, Asta’s path is one of grit, rivalry, and unrelenting hope.

Black Clover’s upcoming finale is poised to be a major moment in modern manga history. Whether you’ve been following since day one or just starting to explore the series, now is the perfect time to revisit Asta’s story before its grand conclusion and witness how far the boy with no magic has come.
