Anime 'The Maid Who Just Loves to Eat' Drops Its First Trailer

The upcoming anime season will bring fans a brand new adaptation of the manga Maid-san wa Taberu Dake (A Maid Who Just Loves to Eat). The show is set to premiere in April, although the exact release date has not been announced yet. A teaser trailer has already been released, giving viewers a taste of what to expect and featuring a snippet of the opening theme song, Ribbon, performed by majiko. You can watch it here.

The story follows Suzume Tachibana, a gentle and cheerful maid who once worked in England. When the mansion where she was employed is severely damaged, her employer asks her to remain in Japan while the estate undergoes restoration. During this unexpected stay, Suzume finds herself exploring the world of Japanese cuisine. Her curiosity leads her from small neighborhood eateries to traditional markets, and what starts as a way to pass the time soon becomes a heartfelt journey of discovery, comfort, and cultural appreciation.

The original manga is published digitally on Kodansha’s Comic Days platform. Written and illustrated by Susumu Maeya, the series began in December 2019 and has been collected into five volumes so far. Its charming art style and endearing tone about food and everyday life have helped it find a loyal following among fans of cozy, slice-of-life storytelling.

The anime adaptation is being produced jointly by studios EMT Squared and Magic Bus, both known for creating lighthearted and heartwarming projects. The main character, Suzume Tachibana, will be voiced by Kana Ichinose, whose previous roles include Fern in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Tessia Eralith in The Beginning After the End. With her expressive performance and the studios' attention to gentle storytelling, Maid-san wa Taberu Dake promises to be a relaxing, feel-good series perfect for fans of culinary adventures and wholesome anime.

More details, including the exact release date and streaming platform availability, are expected to be revealed soon. If you enjoy simple yet beautifully told stories about food, culture, and quiet moments of joy, this upcoming series looks like one to keep an eye on.
