'Sakamoto Days' Returns: Teaser Trailer Unveils Season Two of the Action Anime

TMS Entertainment has officially confirmed that the hit action-comedy anime Sakamoto Days will receive a second season. The studio also released a teaser trailer, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the continuation of the beloved story.

The anime is based on the manga created by Yuto Suzuki, which has been serialized since November 2020 in Weekly Shonen Jump, the legendary magazine from Shueisha. Known for its fast-paced humor, striking action sequences, and lovable cast, the series quickly captured the hearts of readers around the world.

The Sakamoto Days franchise has grown beyond the main manga to include spin-offs such as Sakamoto Holidays and a light novel adaptation. Adding to the excitement, a live-action film based on the manga is set to hit Japanese theaters on April 29, 2026, promising to bring the world of Sakamoto to life in a completely new way.

As of now, the main manga consists of 25 collected volumes and has sold over 15 million copies globally. The story has entered its intense final arc, keeping fans eagerly turning the pages to see how the saga will conclude.

The first season of the anime premiered earlier this year, split into two parts with a total of 22 episodes. It has been praised for its faithful yet dynamic adaptation, blending over-the-top action, sharp comedy, and surprisingly heartfelt moments that explore family, loyalty, and redemption.

Taro Sakamoto was once the world’s most feared assassin - admired by peers, dreaded by villains. But one day, love changed everything. He retired, got married, became a father... and gained a few extra pounds. Now, the once-legendary hitman runs a quiet family convenience store. But when threats from his past resurface, he must protect his family using the deadly skills he thought he’d left behind.

With its mix of humor, explosive fight choreography, and heartwarming storytelling, Sakamoto Days continues to stand out as one of the most entertaining shonen series of recent years. Fans can look forward to the second season bringing even more action and charm to the screen.
