Part Five of Space Epic 'Yamato Forever: Rebellion 3199' Gets Its Trailer

The feature-length anime series Yamato Forever: Rebel 3199 is keeping up its momentum on the big screen. This winter, the fifth installment will premiere in Japanese cinemas on February 20. The film promises more interstellar drama and high-energy space battles, as seen in its new action-packed trailer, which Bandai Namco Filmworks released on New Year’s Day.

The project is structured as a seven-part saga that continues the long-standing legacy of the beloved Space Battleship Yamato universe. The first film debuted in July 2024 on home video, followed by the second in November 2024, the third in April 2025, and the fourth in October 2025. The remaining two chapters will be revealed in the future. Production is handled by Studio Mother, known for combining cinematic visuals with emotionally rich storytelling.

Rebel 3199 is not just a reboot, but a continuation of the iconic space opera that originally helped shape the modern anime landscape. With updated animation, deeper character arcs, and refined storytelling, this new iteration aims to appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers. The franchise's focus on themes like duty, sacrifice, and humanity’s place in the universe continues to resonate strongly today.

For anime fans outside Japan, international release dates have yet to be announced, but given Yamato’s global recognition and loyal fanbase, streaming or theatrical rollouts in other regions are highly anticipated. As the series nears its conclusion, Yamato Forever: Rebel 3199 looks set to be one of the standout anime epics of the coming years.
