The highly anticipated continuation of the sports anime Ace of Diamond Act II is finally set to hit the screens six years after the first season wrapped up. The new season, titled Ace of Diamond Act II Second Season, premieres on April 5. As part of the promotional buildup, the series' official website released a second trailer, featuring dynamic baseball action set to the energetic opening theme Let's Go Crazy performed by Baby Canta.
Ace of Diamond Act II is based on the popular baseball manga by Yuji Terajima. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine until October 2022, spanning 34 collected volumes. The story follows Eijun Sawamura, a passionate pitcher aiming to lead his team to national glory while facing fierce rivals and personal growth on and off the field.
The first anime adaptation of the series was produced by the renowned studio Madhouse, which aired from April 2019 to March 2020 and ran for 52 episodes. The upcoming season, however, is being handled by OLM, known for its work on well-loved franchises such as Pokémon and Inazuma Eleven. Fans can expect a fresh visual style combined with the same heartfelt intensity that made the first season a favorite among sports anime enthusiasts.
The original Ace of Diamond manga also appeared in Weekly Shonen Magazine and was compiled into 47 volumes. Its anime adaptation spanned two seasons totaling 126 episodes, supplemented by a few special OVA releases. Over the years, the franchise has earned a loyal global fan base for its inspiring characters, strategic gameplay, and thrilling depiction of teamwork and perseverance.
With its return this April, Ace of Diamond Act II Second Season promises to deliver more high-stakes drama, fierce competition, and emotional storytelling, continuing the legacy of one of the most celebrated baseball anime of all time.
