This summer, the world of Fairy Tail is coming back with a new manga mini-series from creator Hiro Mashima. Instead of the original August 5 date, readers can jump in on July 29.
The mini-series will premiere in issue #35 of Weekly Shonen Magazine, marking the 20th anniversary of Fairy Tail. This milestone celebrates two decades of friendship, fierce battles, and fantasy adventures that have won over fans around the world.
The original Fairy Tail manga started serialization on August 2, 2006, and wrapped up on July 26, 2017. Over that time, it ran for 63 volumes and reached a global circulation of more than 72 million copies. Its success helped define a generation of shonen manga and inspired many readers and artists who grew up with it.
Since then, the Fairy Tail universe has grown well beyond the main story. The series now spans spin-off manga, anime adaptations, movies, and video games, all exploring new parts of the world Mashima built. Since July 2018, fans have been following Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, a sequel drawn by Atsuo Ueda with Mashima’s guidance.
