DMM Pictures has officially announced the television anime Kill Ao. The series already has a short teaser trailer, with its premiere scheduled for 2026.
This will be the very first anime project produced by the newly established animation studio CUE. The studio, founded in 2023 by DMM, is headed by Rui Kuroki, former executive at the well-known anime powerhouse Production I.G. The fact that CUE is taking its first major leap with such an ambitious project makes this announcement particularly exciting for anime fans worldwide.
The story follows Juzo Ogami, a 39-year-old legendary hitman working for the syndicate known as Z.O.O. During a mission involving Mitsuoka Pharmaceuticals, a company specializing in genetic engineering, an unusual incident completely alters his life.
