Publisher Shueisha has announced that total circulation for the manga Kagurabachi has surpassed 3 million copies. The milestone coincided with the release of the ninth volume, which hit shelves in early October.
Kagurabachi is a dark fantasy series running in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump since September 2023. It’s written and illustrated by Takeru Hokazono, a rising talent whose dramatic storytelling and cinematic art style have quickly earned him a global fan base.
In December 2024, Toyo Keizai Online reported that animation studio CygamesPictures is working on an anime adaptation of Kagurabachi. Although the production has not been officially confirmed, excitement is steadily growing among fans who are eager to see how the story’s intense sword fights and supernatural themes will be brought to life on screen.
The story follows Chihiro Rokuhira, the son of a legendary blacksmith who forged six enchanted swords.
