'Godzilla' Makes a Triumphant Return to Anime

The legendary Godzilla franchise is set to return in a whole new form — an upcoming anime series produced by Japan’s Studio Orange, best known for *Beastars* and *Godzilla Singular Point*, in collaboration with Thailand’s IGLOO STUDIO. While the title and release window remain under wraps, excitement is already building among fans of the kaiju icon.

According to early visuals, the story will center around a new and mysterious protagonist — a young boy who appears to possess the powers of Godzilla himself. Beyond this teaser image, however, little else has been revealed. Who this character is, how he gained such immense power, and what enemies he’ll face remain major unanswered questions.

This isn’t Godzilla’s first encounter with anime. The franchise previously ventured into the medium with *Godzilla Singular Point*, also produced by Orange, and an ambitious trilogy of films — *Planet of the Monsters*, *City on the Edge of Battle*, and *The Planet Eater* — created by screenwriter Gen Urobuchi and Polygon Pictures. Though those projects received mixed reception, they expanded the mythos in bold new directions.
