'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle' - Japan’s Highest-Grossing Film Confirms Digital Release Date

The record-breaking hit Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is finally heading to digital platforms worldwide on July 29, more than a year after its theatrical debut. On the same day, the film will also be released on Blu-ray in Japan. The update was first shared by GamesRadar+.

The movie premiered in theaters on July 18, 2025, and finished its theatrical run on April 9. During that time, it brought in an impressive 40.2 billion yen (about $253.3 million) in Japan, earning the spot as the second-highest-grossing film in the country’s history. The only film ahead of it remains Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which was released in October 2020 and earned 40.75 billion yen.

With an estimated production cost of $20 million, Infinity Castle went on to make $793.5 million worldwide, based on figures from The Numbers. That success placed it seventh among the highest-grossing films of 2025 and cemented it as the most successful Japanese film ever made. It’s another sign of just how strongly the Demon Slayer series continues to connect with global audiences.

The Infinity Castle trilogy from studio ufotable adapts the closing chapters of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga, bringing Tanjiro and his friends’ story to an intense and emotional conclusion. The release dates for the remaining parts of the trilogy haven’t been announced yet, but fans can expect ufotable’s signature attention to detail, smooth animation, and faithful approach to the source material that have made the series stand out.

For anime fans everywhere, the digital release is a chance to finally experience the dramatic finale of one of the most beloved anime series of the last decade from home. With its mix of heart, courage, and stunning animation, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is set to capture the attention of both longtime followers and those discovering the series for the first time.
