MAPPA, the acclaimed anime studio, is hard at work on the fourth season of the hit series Jujutsu Kaisen, officially titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Deadly Migration Part 2 (Jujutsu Kaisen Shimetsu Kaiyū Kōhen). The release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but fans are already getting a glimpse of what’s ahead through an intense teaser trailer.
The anime continues the story from Gege Akutami’s manga, which became a worldwide sensation for its mix of dark fantasy, supernatural combat, and grounded human emotion. The original manga wrapped up in September 2024 with 30 volumes, but its popularity hasn’t slowed down. By late 2023, the series — including the prequel Jujutsu Kaisen 0, light novels, and digital releases — had sold more than 150 million copies globally, securing its spot as one of the top-selling manga series of all time.
There’s also fresh material expanding the Jujutsu Kaisen world. A short spin-off called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo recently debuted, written by Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki. While not much has been revealed yet, early impressions suggest it keeps the same emotional depth and dynamic fight sequences that fans love about the main series.
This year also marks MAPPA’s 15th anniversary. The studio, known for hits like Attack on Titan: The Final Season and Chainsaw Man, released a special poster to celebrate, highlighting the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s a tribute to both the series’ continued success and the artists whose work brings it to life.
